With the launch of this app, BSNL enters into a popular payments segment that has gained momentum post the announcement of demonetisation.
According to the announcement, the mobile payment app will enable the brand’s existing 100 million customer base to make bill payments and do transaction of various e-commerce platforms.
This digital wallet was launched by Manoj Sinha, Minister for Telecommunications at an event in New Delhi.
Digital wallet giant MobiKwik has developed and issued the app for BSNL.
“BSNL mobile wallet will not only promote cashless economy, but also enhance business for BSNL,” said Anupam Srivastava, CMD, BSNL.
“Through this strategic partnership between BSNL and MobiKwik, we are taking another important milestone in achieving our Prime Minister Modi’s vision of enabling and making India a less-cash society based on the grand vision of digital India”, Srivastava said.
