CAIT issues white papers to aware traders on GST

For enabling greater understanding on soon to rollout Goods and Services Tax (GST), the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has issued a white paper to spread awareness traders on the core factors of the new tax reform.

“The white paper, which also represents the confederation’s viewpoints on the new law, will help traders understand the new technology-based taxation system,” said, CAIT’s general secretary Praveen Khandelwal and national president B. C. Bhartia, in a joint communiqué.

CAIT launched an awareness campaign launched in May, under which it has been training traders on GST compliance and adoption of digital payments through a national campaign.There are over 130 market camps, seminars and workshops are being organised across India under the initiative.

In addition to this, it is also running a national campaign, ‘Digital Rath’, aimed at educating and empowering small businesses and trading communities to adopt digital payments.

Besides trading communities, the CAIT has also spread awareness among farmers, transporters, hawkers, small and medium enterprises, consumers, women entrepreneurs and self-employed groups.
