Governor of Nagaland launched Rupay Kissan Card project

In a bid to promote digital transactions amongst the farmers, Governor of Nagaland recently launched the Rupay Kissan Card project of Nagaland State Co-operative Bank.

Governor of Nagaland, P.B Acharya distributed the cards to the farmers in an event at on January 26 at Secretariat Plaza, Kohima, reports the Nagaland Post.

Reportedly, the holders of Rupay Kissan Cards will have access to cashless/digital transactions at POS machines/Micro ATMs/ATMs.

The Nagaland State Co-operative Bank Ltd will be issuing 10000 numbers of Rupay Kisan Card to farmers of the state within March 15, 2017.

The project has been launched in pursuance to the announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi , impressing upon cooperative banks and rural banks to issue “Rupay Kisan Cards” to 4.32 crore farmers of the country.
