In a bid to firm its presence in India, online payment giant PayPal is planning to hire 600 techies in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) domains by December.
According to Guru Bhat, General Manager- Technology and Head of Engineering, PayPal, the brand is planning to increase its headcount by 600 in 2018. It has plans to call applications for recruiting Java, Node JS; back-end developers- data engineers, data experts and product managers.
For the firm, expanding its operations in India is strategic and it is great opportunity not just in terms of business expansion but also exploring the pool of talent existing in the country.
Bhat says that the company has plans to recruit fresh as well as well as experienced techies, who will be then contributing in the areas of AI and ML.
PayPal is rapidly growing with over 20 per cent year-on-year rise in revenue.
At present, it has two tech centres in Chennai and Bengaluru. Its headcount of 1,700 and has doubled since 2016.
The brand is available in more than 200 markets across the world.
