RBI unveils helpline to handle account hacking queries

RBITo curb the menace of bank accounts hacking the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched a helpline where callers can get detailed information on the issue just by giving a “missed call” on 8691960000.

With this initiative, the apex bank has made a concrete move towards its awareness drive against rising threat of unethical hackers.

Once the user sends a missed call to the above-mentioned number, he will receive a call back that will provide him with detailed information on steps to be taken in such cases. It also provides the user with information on filing the complaint with the cyber cell of the local police and on an exclusively designed website- sachet.rbi.org.in.

As a part of its campaign, the RBI is rigorously making people aware to stand against any offer of lottery winnings or easy funds, disguised as a product of RBI or any government body.

It has come to the central bank’s notice that several fraudulent calls and e-mails are also trying to engage people in fake promises of credit cards.

This move by RBI will help in nabbing the culprits are curb their malicious activities.
