India has created four million jobs in just a span of eight months, says Central Statistics Office (CSO).
This is so far, the biggest job addition in India history, reported during September 2017 to February, 2018, as reported by Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
The data reveals that in April alone 6.85 lakh jobs have been created. As per CSO’s employment related statistics as many as 4.126 million new jobs were created in the eight months till April this year.
The analysis is based on the benefits availed under three major schemes, namely – the EPFO, Employees’ State Insurance Scheme (ESIC) and National Pension Scheme (NPS).
Further, the EPFO’s April payroll number is so far, the highest addition in the last eight months, indicating higher jobs creations than preceding 7 month.
In the month of April, maximum number of payrolls of 1,87,221 were created in 18-21 years of age bracket followed by 1,80,892 payrolls in 22 to 25 years.
However, EPFO says that the numbers are provisional as updation of employee records is a continuous process and it is most likely to get revised in subsequent months.
