Maharashtra govt soon to shift departments’ data to cloud

Cloud Computing

Cloud ComputingAfter unveiling its public cloud policy recently, Government of Maharashtra is soon to instruct all its departments to shift their data to cloud.

The government resolution (GR), which is supposed to be issued by the state government, is most likely to fix October as the deadline meant for the departments for shifting their storage to the cloud.

“The state is keen not to have any new data centres. All the information, from all departments, should be shifted to the cloud,” said SVR Srinivas, the state IT secretary. The IT department will be helping all the departments shift the data.

Officials from the Information Technology (IT) department believe that the move will help in accelerating the e-governance and will help in accessing the data instantly.
