Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has inaugurated its new Mumbai Regional Office and Branch Office at Dadar West, aiming to meet the rising financial needs of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Mumbai and neighboring regions. The ceremony, held on September 8, 2025, was led by Shri Manoj Mittal, Chairman and Managing Director of SIDBI, and attended by key figures including Deputy Managing Director Shri Prakash Kumar and Thane Small Scale Industries Association’s Shri Nandan Khambete.

The Mumbai Branch marks a strategic move by SIDBI to strengthen credit flow and financial assistance to MSMEs, supporting the sector’s growth and contribution toward India’s economic development. SIDBI has adopted a fully digital lending process to ensure timely and adequate credit delivery, aiming to disburse financial assistance within 48 hours of approval. During the inauguration, the bank issued sanction letters for term loans ranging from ₹15 lakh to ₹20 crore, enabling micro and small enterprises to invest in plant and machinery and expand or modernise their units.

SIDBI’s Mumbai office will collaborate with industry associations and stakeholders, intending to significantly increase its customer base and loan disbursement volumes in the region. The branch is not only focused on extending credit but also aims to deliver development support, especially for entrepreneurs seeking sustainable growth opportunities.

Approximately 100 MSMEs and representatives from industry associations attended the event, highlighting SIDBI’s vital role in supporting enterprise growth and sustainability. The new branch is located on the third floor of the Park Plaza building, VS Agashe Road, Dadar West, and aims to serve as a trusted partner for MSMEs in Mumbai and nearby areas.
