Bengaluru: AI startup Sarvam AI has opened public access to its conversational voice AI agents platform, Sarvam Samvaad, marking a major shift from its earlier enterprise-only approach. The move introduces a self-serve model with free credits and usage-based pricing, enabling startups, SMBs, developers, and individual users to build and deploy localized voice AI agents more easily.

The launch is aimed at democratizing access to conversational AI by eliminating the lengthy procurement cycles often associated with enterprise software. By making its platform readily available, Sarvam AI is positioning itself to compete with global voice AI providers such as ElevenLabs, while leveraging its expertise in multilingual and India-focused AI solutions.

Sarvam Samvaad enables organizations and developers to create voice agents capable of handling interactions in multiple Indian languages, addressing the growing demand for localized and culturally relevant AI experiences. The company believes that easier access to voice AI technology will accelerate adoption across sectors including financial services, customer support, education, and digital commerce.

The platform has already become a key revenue driver for the company. Sarvam AI’s conversational AI business contributes nearly 80% of its annual recurring revenue (ARR), which currently stands at approximately $12 million. Among its enterprise clients is Tata Capital, which uses the platform for multilingual customer interactions and engagement.

Founded in August 2023 by IIT alumni Vivek Raghavan and Pratyush Kumar, Sarvam AI has emerged as one of India’s fastest-growing AI startups, focusing on foundational AI models and language technologies tailored for Indian users.

The company is reportedly in discussions to raise $250 million in a funding round involving investors such as NVIDIA, Accel, and HCLTech. If successful, the round could propel Sarvam AI into the unicorn club and significantly strengthen its position in the global AI ecosystem.

As part of its international growth strategy, the startup is also planning to establish a San Francisco office, reflecting its ambitions to expand beyond India and build a global footprint in the rapidly evolving conversational AI market.
