MobiKwik Elevates Dhruv Wadhera as CBO, Announces Key Leadership Promotions

Dhruv Wadhera

Gurugram: Digital payments platform MobiKwik has strengthened its leadership team by elevating Dhruv Wadhera to Chief Business Officer (CBO) – Offline Merchant Payments, alongside promoting senior executives across its business and governance functions as the company gears up for its next phase of growth.

The leadership reshuffle follows a strong FY26 performance and reflects MobiKwik’s strategy to enhance execution capabilities, expand its merchant ecosystem, reinforce governance, and drive sustainable long-term growth.

Dhruv Wadhera, who has led the company’s offline merchant payments business since 2023, will now oversee MobiKwik’s offline merchant expansion strategy across key segments, including organised retail, oil & gas, general trade, and payment devices. During his tenure, the business recorded significant growth in gross merchandise value (GMV) and revenues while expanding its portfolio of QR-based payments, Soundbox solutions, and electronic data capture (EDC) devices.

In his new role, Wadhera will focus on strengthening merchant acquisition, improving operational efficiency, enhancing merchant retention, and optimising device economics as MobiKwik targets a fivefold increase in its device business and aims to achieve break-even by FY28. Before joining MobiKwik, he served as Vice President and Sales Director at Zomato.

In addition to leading the recharge and bill payments business, Mukherji will now oversee Zaakpay, MobiKwik’s payment gateway platform, with the objective of scaling the online merchant payments business tenfold by FY28. He brings over 24 years of experience, having previously held leadership roles at PayU and Airtel Payments Bank.

Meanwhile, Saurabh Taneja has been elevated to Senior Vice President – Governance, where he will lead regulatory compliance, company secretarial functions, and legal affairs. Taneja will focus on strengthening governance frameworks, risk management, and regulatory compliance as the company continues to expand its business operations.

Commenting on the appointments, Bipin Preet Singh, Co-founder, Managing Director and CEO of MobiKwik, said the leadership promotions reflect the company’s commitment to nurturing internal talent while building stronger institutional capabilities.

The appointments complement several governance initiatives introduced over the past year, including the appointment of a Chief Risk Officer, a dedicated Head of Governance, and a board comprising 63% independent directors, reinforcing MobiKwik’s focus on building a resilient and future-ready organisation.
