Arunachal Pradesh gets its first digital village

Nirjuli village-1 in Papum Pare district has been declared as the first digital village of Arunachal Pradesh.

“SBI had urged the state government to improve connectivity in the state to speed up socio-economic development of the people,” said PVSLM Murty, chief general manager, north-east circle of State Bank of India (SBI).

“SBI would promote V-set linked customer service point (CSP),” he added.

“Digital village aims at cashless transactions even in sabji mandis to make payment through mobile,” he said.

Murthy advocated awareness through schools for which the SBI could provide computers to promote digitalisation, micro ATM, CSP besides other financial support to the villagers to improve their income level.
