HSBC Singapore has named former Citibank executive Ashmita Acharya as its new head of wealth and personal banking. Her appointment will begin on January 18, 2023.
She will report to Wong Kee Joo, Chief Executive of HSBC Singapore, and Greg Hingston, Chief Executive of HSBC global insurance and partnerships, in her new job. Acharya will be in charge of retail banking, wealth management, insurance, asset management, and worldwide private banking services at HSBC.
Previously, Acharya was Citibank’s Singapore retail banking leader. She was formerly in charge of the wealth management and mortgage industry growth rates. She was also in charge of acquisition, segment proposition, customer interaction, and analytics for the bank’s Asian, European, and Middle Eastern operations.

Her experience in retail and wealth strategy, client proposition, digital experience, and product development, according to HSBC, will be critical in propelling the bank’s wealth and personal banking strategy.
