Mumbai: Axis Bank has appointed Rajeev Mantri as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Key Managerial Personnel, effective September 28, 2026, subject to the necessary regulatory and statutory approvals. He succeeds Puneet Sharma, who stepped down earlier this year to pursue new professional opportunities.
Rajeev Mantri joins Axis Bank from Bandhan Bank, where he served as Executive President and Chief Financial Officer. In that role, he led the bank’s finance function, overseeing capital management, investor relations, regulatory engagement, and strategic financial planning. His appointment is expected to further strengthen Axis Bank’s financial leadership as it continues to focus on sustainable growth and operational excellence.
With nearly three decades of experience in the banking and financial services sector, Mantri has held several senior leadership positions across leading financial institutions. Before Bandhan Bank, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Citi India and held key leadership roles at Standard Chartered Bank, gaining extensive expertise in finance, treasury, governance, capital management, and business transformation.
A Chartered Accountant by qualification, Mantri also holds a Global Executive MBA from INSEAD, bringing a blend of financial, strategic, and global leadership experience to his new role.
