Bandhan Bank named Santosh Nair, the former CEO of HDFC Sales, as Head of Consumer Lending and Mortgages, on Thursday, February 1, 2024.
Shantanu Sengupta, Head of Retail Banking at Bandhan Bank, will step down, the bank said. However, he will help the bank make a smooth transition and will leave in early FY2024-25 to seek possibilities outside the bank.
Prior to joining Bandhan Bank, Nair served as the CEO of HDFC Sales, where he oversaw the company’s sales operations across India. In his new role, Nair will be responsible for driving growth in Bandhan Bank’s consumer lending and mortgage business, and will oversee the development and execution of strategies to enhance the bank’s competitiveness in these areas. Nair brings with him a wealth of experience in the financial services industry, having held various leadership positions in the sector over the past two decades.
Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, MD and CEO of Bandhan Bank anticipates Nair to play a vital role in the company’s strategy of strengthening the secured book and diversifying the asset book of the private sector bank.
