The Bank Board Bureau (BBB) has finally started the selection process of over 20 Executive Director and 20 General Manager level officers in Public Sector Banks (PSBs). BBB’s has scheduled the interview of ED’s from top PSB’s this month.
Reportedly, there are several vacancies in PSB’s at the top level.
The names of the candidates called for the interview are as follows: S. Harisankar of Allahabad Bank, A.K. Rath of Andhra Bank, P.V. Bharathi and P. Ramana Murthy of Canara Bank, B.K. Divakara of Central Bank of India, R.S. Singh from Dena Bank, A.K. Das from Bank of India, G.M. Bhagat from Corporation Bank, A.C. Rout and R.K. Gupta from Bank of Maharashtra, M.K. Bhattacharya and A.S. Rajeev from Indian Bank, Fareed Ahmed of Punjab & Sind Bank, K. Swaminathan from Indian Overseas Bank, Charan Singh from UCO Bank, A.K. Goel from Union Bank of India, S.S. Mallikarjuna Rao, G.M. Yadwadkar of IDBI Bank, Ashok Pradhan of United Bank of India and Vijaya Bank’s Nageswara Rao.
The post of Chief Executive Officer is lying vacant in Andhra Bank, Dena Bank, Punjab and Sind Bank. Further, IDBI Bank’s CEO post is also vacant as the Reserve Bank of India has appointed M.K. Jain as the RBI deputy governor.
Allahabad Bank’s Managing Director and CEO position is also vacant after the executive powers of Usha Ananthasubramanian were withdrawn by the bank’s board after she was named by investigation agencies in a credit scam.
Tenure of top posts in Central Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Corporation Bank, United Bank of India and UCO Bank will also be vacant during in the coming year.
BBB has shortlisted 40 General Manager rank candidates and will be conducting their interviews earlier this week.
Interim Finance Minister Piyush Goyal has recently announced that the government has plans to fill all the executive vacancies in a month.
