The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has announced the appointment of Ramesh Gurram as its new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). With over 20 years of experience in technology and information security, Ramesh brings a wealth of expertise to his new role at BSE.
Before joining BSE, Ramesh served as the CISO at the Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd. (MCX), where he established the organization’s information security department from the ground up. His tenure at MCX included the creation of a state-of-the-art Cyber Security Operations Centre and the implementation of robust governance, risk, and compliance management processes. He also played a key role in ensuring adherence to both national and international cybersecurity regulations.
Ramesh has held notable positions in the banking sector as well, including Chief Information Security Manager at Bank of Baroda, where he led secure digital transformation projects and strengthened compliance frameworks. Additionally, at the State Bank of India, he was responsible for overseeing cybersecurity audits, data governance, and digital forensics.

Ramesh began his career with the Indian Air Force, where he spent two decades managing IT and security operations, disaster recovery, and security assessments. His extensive background in both military and financial services makes him a valuable asset to BSE as they continue to enhance their cybersecurity capabilities.
