Canara Bank Sanctions ₹393 Crore Loans at Andhra Pradesh Credit Outreach Programme

Palnadu, Andhra Pradesh: Public sector lender Canara Bank has sanctioned ₹393.17 crore in loans across priority sectors at the Credit Outreach Programme organised by the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) in Andhra Pradesh, reinforcing its commitment to financial inclusion and inclusive economic growth.

The programme, held in Palnadu district on July 17, 2026, was attended by Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with senior government officials and banking leaders.

Representing Canara Bank, Brajesh Kumar Singh, Managing Director and CEO, distributed loan sanction letters to beneficiaries, highlighting the bank’s continued efforts to improve access to institutional credit for individuals, entrepreneurs and businesses across the state.

The sanctioned loans cover various priority sectors and are expected to promote entrepreneurship, generate employment opportunities, strengthen small businesses and enhance financial inclusion among underserved communities. The initiative aligns with the government’s broader objective of expanding formal credit access to support sustainable economic development.

In addition to credit assistance, Canara Bank also extended Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) support of ₹36.85 lakh for community welfare initiatives. The CSR contribution will support developmental and social welfare projects aimed at improving the quality of life in local communities.

The Credit Outreach Programme forms part of the Government of India’s ongoing efforts to deepen financial inclusion by encouraging banks to provide timely credit to priority sectors, stimulate local economic activity and promote inclusive growth.
