Cashfree Payments Appoints Piyush Anchliya as Chief Financial Officer

Piyush Anchliya

Cashfree Payments, a prominent Indian fintech company, has announced the appointment of Piyush Anchliya as its new chief financial officer, effective April 15, 2025. Anchliya steps into this key role as the company continues to strengthen its presence in the digital payments space and expand its market reach. He succeeds Vikas Guru, who has been instrumental in Cashfree’s financial journey over the past four years and will support the transition.

Anchliya brings over 15 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, strategy, and M&A, having held senior roles at Barclays and IDFC/Bandhan Group in India and the US. Most recently, he was the CFO at Bandhan AMC (formerly IDFC AMC). A graduate of IIT Kharagpur and IIM Ahmedabad, his strong academic foundation complements his leadership experience, making him well-equipped to guide Cashfree’s financial strategy in its next phase of growth.

In his new role, Anchliya will oversee financial planning, streamline operations, and drive sustainable growth. He will report directly to Akash Sinha, CEO and co-founder of Cashfree Payments. Sinha said, “Piyush’s extensive experience will be crucial as we scale sustainably and strengthen our financial foundation. We’re excited to have him onboard as we continue building the trusted financial backbone for businesses of all sizes.”

His appointment comes as Cashfree hits major milestones, including securing three key licenses from the Reserve Bank of India — payment aggregator (PA-PG), payment aggregator cross border (PA-CB), and prepaid payment instrument (PPI). These approvals enable Cashfree to broaden its domestic and international offerings. The company processes over $80 billion annually for more than 800,000 businesses and recently raised $53 million in a round led by KRAFTON and Apis Growth Fund II.
