Arun JaitleyThe Economic Survey presented by Centre on Monday set up an agenda for 2018-19 and it includes several issues ranging from privatising Air India, recapatalisation of Public Sector Banks (PSBs) and stabilising the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST).

These initiatives will help India in moving towards a medium-term growth potential of over eight per cent.

The survey further said that the government needs to resolve the major issues pertaining to indebted cases and recapitalising of PSBs.

“The government will also need to stabilise GST implementation to remove uncertainty for exporters, facilitate easier compliance and expand the tax base,” said Economic Survey 2017-18. Economic Survey 2018-19 was tabled by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

The survey also highlighted several issues such as macroeconomic concerns and also said that policy vigilance will be the need of the hour in the coming year.
