Centre to appoint India’s first woman Chief Economic Advisor soon: Report

Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government may soon appoint India’s first woman Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) to help the government in times of global turmoil, the report said.
Narendra ModiReportedly, the government is looking at various candidates, including Poonam Gupta, lead economist for India at the World Bank.
Gupta was also appointed as the RBI’s chair professor at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP).
