Citi India appoints Ankur Khurana as Head of Commercial Banking

Mumbai, February 2026: Citi has appointed Ankur Khurana as the Head of Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) in India, effective February 9, 2026, marking a key leadership move aimed at strengthening the bank’s commercial banking franchise in one of its most important growth markets.

Khurana joins Citi from Standard Chartered, bringing with her extensive experience in corporate and commercial banking, client coverage, and business strategy. In her new role, she will be responsible for driving growth, deepening client relationships, and expanding Citi’s commercial banking presence across India. She will also lead strategic initiatives focused on enhancing Citi’s value proposition for mid-sized and emerging corporates, a segment that continues to play a crucial role in India’s economic expansion.

At Citi, the Commercial Bank serves fast-growing local companies, subsidiaries of global corporates, and emerging enterprises by providing a wide range of solutions including lending, cash management, trade finance, and digital banking services. Khurana’s appointment aligns with Citi’s broader strategy to strengthen its institutional banking business in India and capture opportunities arising from the country’s accelerating economic momentum and increasing global integration.
