Doha Insurance Group (DIG), a leading provider of insurance and reinsurance solutions in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, has announced their plans to expand in India by opening a reinsurance branch.
The insurer has received approval from the Qatar Central Bank to establish the branch within Gujarat International Financial Tec-City (GIFT City), India’s emerging hub for international financial services. The new branch will operate under the “Gift City” international insurance office category.
This strategic move is part of DIG’s broader growth plan, building on the success of its regional centers, which have significantly contributed to enhancing the group’s revenues and strengthening its insurance portfolio.
DIG is now working to complete the necessary procedures and secure additional regulatory approvals from Indian authorities and Qatar Central Bank to commence operations.
As a prominent player in the insurance sector, DIG provides a comprehensive range of products and services, including property and casualty insurance, life insurance, health insurance, and reinsurance solutions, catering to both individuals and businesses.
This expansion marks another milestone for DIG, reinforcing its position as a key player in the global insurance and reinsurance market.
