In a significant step towards empowering women entrepreneurs, Union Finance Minister Shri Nirmala Sitharaman virtually inaugurated five dedicated “Nari Shakti” branches of the Union Bank of India. The branches, launched from Bengaluru, are designed to support women entrepreneurs with specialized financial services and resources.
During the event, the Finance Minister encouraged the bank to create technology-driven, cluster-based schemes tailored to female entrepreneurs’ unique needs. Emphasizing the importance of these initiatives, she urged women to take advantage of the programs and contribute to job creation and economic growth.
The Nari Shakti branches are dedicated to extending credit to women-owned businesses, focusing on both manufacturing and service sectors. In addition to financing, the branches will provide advisory services, skill development workshops, mentorship, and opportunities for networking and collaborations.
