E-commerce company Flipkart has appointed Smriti Singh as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Reportedly, the position of CHRO was vacant for the past 18 months.
According to the sources, Singh is expected to take charge of her new position at Flipkart in December. She will be working closely with Kalyan Krishnamurthy, Chief Executive Officer, Flipkart. Prior to Singh’s appointment, Nitin Seth, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Flipkart was taking care of the Human Resource (HR) function. After his exit from the firm, Krishnamurthy stepped into the role and took the additional charge of HR.

Industry sources suggest that Myntra-Jabong’s CEO Ananth Narayanan is planning to resign. As per the reports, Myntra-Jabong’s chief financial officer Dipanjan Roy has also resigned. The company is passing through major turbulent times and report suggest Jabong is expected to lay off 40-50 percent of its 400 people strong workforce in Gurugram as part of a restructuring at Flipkart.
Prior to joining Flipkart, Singh was associated with Sony Pictures Network India as a Vice-President and HR Head. She began her career with Xerox.
