Search engine Google is set to enter India’s job search market for the entry-level positions with its Kormo app.
Kormo app has been specially developed to connect the job seekers with businesses that are looking to hire.
This platform helps the job speakers to maintain a digital resume. Earlier, Kormo was introduced in Bangladesh in 2018 for assisting the job seekers in Dhaka to find the right job opportunities.
Lately, firms namely Quikr and OLX have also shown their interest in the entry-level job search market. For doing this, they have bought job sites such as Babajob and Aaasanjobs.
Post the launch, Kormo would not be the only player in the market. They are several other established names such as Quess Corp and Saral Rozgar, by Tech Mahindra are also occupying a considerable part of the market share.
Kormo is a part of Google’s Area 120 program which acts as an incubator for new ideas within the internet giant.
“Finding employment is a real need across different markets,” Russell said. “We’re looking to bring the same service to countries like India.”
