HDFC Bank names Ramesh Lakshminarayanan as CIO

Private lender HDFC Bank Ltd. today announced the appointment of Ramesh Lakshminarayanan, as its new Group Head – Information Technology. Ramesh has been designated Chief Information Officer (CIO), and as a part of his new position will be responsible for leveling-up the bank’s technological transformation journey.

At HDFC Bank, his role with interconnected to several departments. He will be responsible for technology strategy, strengthening foundational technology, enhancing the digital capabilities and harnessing new age AI/ML technology solutions for the bank.

Prior to this appointment, Ramesh was associated with CRISIL, where he spent three years as Chief Technology and Information Officer.

He has more than 25 years of experience and held leadership positions with organizations such as Citibank, ABN AMRO Bank, and Kotak Mahindra Group.

Ramesh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Mumbai University and an MBA from University of Pune.
