HDFC Standard Life Insurance is most likely to appoint Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer Vibha Padalkar as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
The decision is said to be taken at the board meeting on September 12, 2018, as the former MD and CEO Amitabh Chaudhry resigned on Saturday. Chaudhry joined private lender Axis Bank as MD and CEO.
Prior to joining HDFC Life, Padalkar was associated with WNS Global Services, Colgate-Palmolive (India ) and Pricewaterhouse-Coopers.
She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
She played a pivotal role in Max Life Insurance Company’s proposed merger with, which did not culminate, and in the subsequent listing of the company.
According to industry figures, HDFC Life is one the most valued life insurance companies in the country, with market cap of Rs 90,704.54 crore.
