Sanjeev Mantri has been named as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company on Sunday, succeeding Bhargav Dasgupta, who was appointed as the Vice President of Asian Development Bank.
The current MD and CEO, Dasgupta, tendered his resignation on 21 September 2023, after over 14 years of service, in order to pursue career opportunities outside India. He has been appointed as the Vice-President of Market Solutions of Asian Development Bank for a period of three years.
The Board of Directors of ICICI Lombard approved the appointment of Sanjeev Mantri, currently Executive Director of the Company, as Managing Director & CEO of the Company, effective December 1, 2023 or the date of approval from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), whichever is later, for a period of five consecutive years or his date of retirement, whichever is later.
Sanjeev Mantri began his career with Bennett Coleman & Co. before moving on to significant leadership positions at BNP Paribas.

Sanjeev Mantri has been with the ICICI Group for nearly 20 years, beginning his career in 2003 with ICICI Bank, where he oversaw numerous companies, including the Small and Medium Enterprises Group and the Rural and Inclusive Banking Group.
