IIT Madras opened enrollment for 7 banking and finance skill development programmes

IIT Madras Pravartak Foundation, IIT Madras’ technological innovation centre, is offering industry-relevant upskilling courses to students interested in a career in banking and finance.

The courses are being delivered in partnership with IIT Madras’ Digital Skills Academy and InFactPro, a leading financial sector certified trainer in Chennai. InFactPro is a training partner of the skills development ministry’s banking and financial services and insurance industry skill councils.

Students in India are very interested in pursuing a profession in banking. Every year, about 30 lakh hopefuls take various bank recruitment exams, with just 0.5 per cent passing.

These students have a plethora of chances in the financial and banking sectors if they are willing to learn new skills.

These certification courses are open to all learners who are seeking a bachelor’s degree or have finished a bachelor’s degree in any field and have a desire to thrive in the BFSI industry.

Students who complete these certification courses will be able to sit for the different certification tests administered by NISM, NSE, BSE, and IIBF.

Elaborating on these courses, Professor K Mangala Sunder, Principal Coordinator of Digital Skills Academy, Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE), IIT Madras, said, “With the recent technology advancement and digital adoption in the BFSI sector, recruiters are on the lookout for the candidates with the right skills.

It is critical for college graduates to develop BFSI subject competence. These certification courses teach you all you need to know about banking and finance, mutual funds, equity derivatives, digital banking, securities operations, and risk management. The IIT Madras Digital Skills Academy has joined IITM Pravartak with the goal of providing employable women and men for the BFSI sector, according to the professor.
