Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) proudly inaugurated its 50th Regional Office in Tirupati at Sai Krupa. The event was graced by the presence of Shri Ajay Kumar Srivastava, MD & CEO of Indian Overseas Bank, along with Shri B. Chandra Reddy, Director, Shri Anup Deo Rao Wasnik, Senior Regional Manager, Vijayawada, and Shri Sanjay Kumar Jha, Senior Regional Manager, Tirupati.

To enhance customer convenience, IOB also introduced an innovative account opening service through Tab Banking using facial authentication. This new feature validates customer details by matching them with biometric information in the UIDAI database, ensuring a seamless and secure process.

Previously, IOB launched account openings in Tab Banking solutions using fingerprint data validation. The new facial recognition authentication aims to address challenges faced by customers with unclear fingerprints. This advanced process ensures immediate KYC compliance, enabling the instant opening of Savings Bank Accounts and access to services such as Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, ATM cards, and chequebooks within minutes. These services can be provided at the customer’s doorstep, eliminating the need to visit any branch.

This milestone facilitates a focused approach to delivering comprehensive financial solutions tailored to local needs, fostering new connections, and driving growth. He highlighted that IOB remains committed to continuous innovation and customisation of its banking products to meet the evolving needs of its customers. Notably, IOB has become the first Public Sector Bank to offer account opening services via Tab Banking, employing advanced facial recognition and customer authentication technologies.
