Infobip, the global AI-first cloud communications platform, and India-based digital technology company Tesync are offering cooperative banks a joint AI-led digital lending and omnichannel customer engagement stack, in collaboration with the Telangana State Cooperative Urban Bank Federation (TESCUBFED Ltd.). The offering was presented to CXOs of Telangana cooperative banks in Hyderabad on 28 October 2026.
The Infobip Tesync offering targets smaller lenders that want digital loan journeys without building every system themselves. It joins other fintech plays for the segment, such as OneStack’s digital infrastructure for cooperative banks.
What the Infobip Tesync stack includes
The solution combines three layers, according to the companies’ announcement published on 2 November 2026:
- FINSYNC: Tesync’s digital lending suite, covering lead capture, onboarding, eligibility checks, document collection, underwriting, approval, disbursement, servicing and collections.
- SYNCRO and Infobip messaging: Tesync’s AI customer engagement and CPaaS platform, linked to Infobip’s omnichannel communications and conversational AI over SMS, WhatsApp, RCS and voice.
- CourseNXT: a learning management platform for employee onboarding, assessments and compliance training.
In practice, a borrower could get a WhatsApp prompt for a missing document, a status update when a loan moves to approval and a repayment reminder later, all triggered from the lending workflow instead of manual follow-ups. Banks can deploy the stack as cloud-native, hybrid or on-premise, depending on their governance and data-control needs.
What the partners said
Venkata Sesha Reddy, CEO of Tesync, said many cooperative banks need “an integrated pathway to modernize lending without adding complexity”, and called the collaboration a step toward wider digital adoption in the sector.
Shri G Madana Gopala Swamy, Working President of TESCUBFED Ltd., said the tools can help cooperative banks improve efficiency, streamline lending and build future-ready capabilities.
Paritosh Gandhi, Country Head, India at Infobip, said the aim is a secure and scalable lending and engagement ecosystem “while preserving the personal relationships their customers value”. He described Telangana as the foundation for taking the model to cooperative banking ecosystems in other states.
Why cooperative banks need digital lending upgrades
Urban cooperative banks (UCBs) are the largest group of RBI-regulated banks by number. India had 1,457 UCBs as on 31 March 2025, with total deposits of ₹5.84 lakh crore, according to the RBI discussion paper on licensing of new UCBs released on 13 January 2026. The same paper notes that a predominant part of the sector lacks adequate technology, cybersecurity infrastructure and operational capability.
The sector’s umbrella organisation, the National Urban Co-operative Finance and Development Corporation (NUCFDC), functional since February 2024, is expected to close some of these technology gaps through shared services. Its launch was covered in Amit Shah’s inauguration of NUCFDC for urban cooperative banks.
Compliance is another driver. The RBI (Digital Lending) Directions, 2025, issued on 8 May 2025, apply to digital lending by primary (urban) cooperative banks as well as state and central cooperative banks. RBI has also been building shared digital lending rails such as RBI’s Unified Lending Interface (ULI).
