Institute of Chartered Accountants has appointed Atul Kumar Gupta as its new President for the year 2020-21. Besides, Nihar Niranjan Jambusaria has been elected as the Vice President of the ICAI for 2020-21. They were elected during a meeting of the central council in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Atul Gupta, who is a chartered accountant by profession, has served the segment for about two decades. He was the Vice President of ICAI for the term 2019-20. He is commerce and a law graduate by education.

Gupta takes charge at the helm of ICAI when the CA profession at the time when  several big non banking finance companies are facing major challenges namely huge trust deficit among corporate stakeholders, regulators and economy watchers.
