Amitava Chatterjee has officially assumed the role of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, succeeding Baldev Prakash, whose three-year term concluded today.
In a ceremony held at the Bank’s corporate headquarters, Chatterjee, a veteran banker with over three decades of experience at the State Bank of India (SBI), was welcomed by the outgoing MD & CEO, Baldev Prakash, along with the Bank’s Executive Director Sudhir Gupta and other senior management officials.
Chatterjee expressed his enthusiasm and gratitude, “I feel honoured to have this opportunity to lead J&K Bank – an institution with a rich legacy of trust and excellence. I look forward to working with the talented team to build upon the strong foundation laid by my predecessor, Baldev Prakash, and to drive the Bank’s vision of financial empowerment with sustainable growth and innovation.”
The event also marked a farewell for Baldev Prakash, who served as J&K Bank’s first MD & CEO since December 2021, overseeing significant transformations within the organization. The Bank’s management and staff extended their gratitude for his contributions and wished him success in his future endeavors.
