Karnataka Bank Ltd has informed the stock exchanges that Abhishek Sankar Bagchi has been appointed as the bank’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from March 2.
The appointment comes after Muralidhar Krishna Rao, the bank’s CFO, resigned on March 1 after his term expired.
Bagchi is a Chartered Accountant with a Global Diploma in International Financial Reporting (IFRS) and has worked in financial reporting, financial planning and control, taxation, RBI reporting, strategic planning, fund management, and budgeting for over 18 years. He has been in the banking and NBFC industries since May 2006.

Bagchi has been CFO and Head (Finance) at NSDL Payments Bank Limited since September 2017, according to the bank.
