Keynote Address: Looking forward in the Digital World with Disruptive Mindset

Mrityunjay Mahapatra

Mrityunjay Mahapatra, Member Board of Directors and Chairman Finance & Audit Committee, Spice Money said, “It is important to have a disruptive idea to make your business model work, it is no more important to do the same thing that is working for everybody else. Even the government is trying at least three-four solutions of anything before presenting it to the general public.”

He further elucidates, “ Systems are becoming digitally immune today because of the large dose or overdose of digital implementation has finally entered into the world. Now, it has to be shaken up with new doses of physical or hybrid modes. The second thing that is happening is, all the data colonizers of the world the Amazons and Googles of the world have taken your data and are creating insights. Now the system is fighting back, the disruption is happening.”

“All important and critical disruptive factors are playing out in the market now and we will have to develop a mindset that is disruptive or that can take you into the Next Generation. As Burton Russell said the next generation will not be the generation of interest, it will be a generation of ideas”, he added.

“Five years back, State Bank of India or HDFC Bank was trying to understand what Paytm was doing. Probably, they will be dipping into their pockets to find out money to unleash technology to stop them on their tracks and it is quite fair”, he added further.
