Kotak Mahindra Bank becomes India’s second most valued bank, beats SBI

Kotak Mehindra BankShares of private lender Kotak Mahindra Bank has climbed by 1.8 per cent, becoming India’s second most valued bank.

The bank has surpassed India’s largest lender State Bank of India (SBI). According to the data reported by Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Kotak Mahindra Bank has a market capitalisation of Rs 2,22,560.69 crore, after its shares rose 1.7 per cent.

Earlier today, Kotak Mahindra Bank shares surged to 1.8 per cent reaching an all-time high of Rs1, 170.15 apiece.

On the other hand, SBI market capitalisation was reported at Rs2, 22,043.74 crore. Its shares were trading at Rs248.80 on BSE, 1 per cent lower than its previous close.

Further, maintaining consistency HDFC Bank Ltd remained as country’s most valuable bank with a market capitalisation of Rs5.04 trillion.
