Exhibiting an account of massive growth, mobile app m-Aadhaar has surpassed 10 lakh downloads in just a span of two months, tweeted Union Minister for Electronics and Information and Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad.
“In just 2 months 10 lakh people have downloaded m-Aadhaar, thus making it a very popular App among the users,” said Ravi Shankar Prasad.
m-Aadhaar launched by the Unique Identification Authority of India, a mobile application that enables the user to download his/her Aadhaar card.
It has also been validated as a proof of identification by the Ministry of Railways as a digital version of Aadhaar card for the travellers of reserved class. This rule will be effective from 8th September 2017.
“m- Aadhar, when shown by the passenger on his/her mobile after entering the password, should be accepted as a proof of identity for undertaking journey in any reserved class over Indian Railways,” said an official communiqué from the Ministry of Railways.
As of now, the mobile application is available for Android and iphone users.
