Microsoft, Niti Aayog collaborate to deploy AI solution

India’s premier think tank Niti Aayog has collaborated with Microsoft India to deploy artificial intelligence based solutions across several sectors such as agriculture and healthcare.

niti_aayogAs per the agreement, Microsoft India will assist Niti Aayog by merge the cloud, AI, research and its vertical expertise for new initiatives and solutions from across several core areas namely agriculture and healthcare and the environment.

Microsoft will also speed up the usage of AI for the development and adoption of local language computing, in addition to securing capacity for AI at the workforce via education, the company, said Microsoft’s official communiqué.

The supremacy of Artificial Intelligence requires to be brought to bear in sectors like healthcare, education, environment and agriculture, which are vital for the comprehensive development of India, said Amitabh Kant, CEO – NITI Aayog.

“Simultaneously, we should utilize the power of AI to build an understanding of the different regional languages prevalent in India,” he added.

“The partnership will assist NITI Aayog to move beyond pilots and understand how to level-up AI completion in sectors characterised by a prevalence of public goods,” he added.

As per the agreement, Microsoft will offer advanced AI-based offerings such as farm advisory services, healthcare screening models at primary health centers along with building capacity for AI through education to NITI Aayog.
