State Bank of India will keep its headquarters located in Mumbai closed for a day in a bid to sanitise the building after two employees of the lender tested positive for Covid-19 virus.
As reported by ET, in an internal memo, SBI has asked its staff at the headquarters not to attend the office on May 5 as it will beundertaking a deep cleaning and sanitisation of its premises.
“Both employees who tested positive have not been attending office for sometime so the worry of transmission is scarce, but we are taking all possible precaution and figuring out who interacted with these employees,” an official aware of the matter said.
Besides, SBI had brought down its office hours by an hour and all employees are supposed to leave their office by 5 pm. The lender is also sanitising it’s office daily in a bid ensure minimum risk of coronavirus transmission.
