Taking a progressive step towards enabling digitalisation, the Ministry of Railways has approved m-Adhaar as a valid proof of identity for the train passengers.
This facility is applicable for passengers of all reserved classes.
“m-Aadhaar, when shown by the passenger on his/her mobile after entering the password should be accepted as proof of identity for undertaking journey in any reserved class over Indian Railways,” said an official communique by the Ministry of Railways.
As Aadhaar supremacy is prevailing as far as identity proof is concerned, the validity of m- Aadhaar as a proof of identity intensify Aadhaar’s relevance a bit more.
m- Aadhaar, a mobile app for Aadhaar, was launched by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
As of now, the app is available only for the Android users. It is a handy way to carry your Aadhaar details in your smartphone. It is easy to operate and can be conveniently carried everywhere. You just have to connect your Aadhaar account with your phone and feed in your credentials.
