E-commerce platform Paytm Mall is planning to shift its operations from Noida to Bengaluru in a bid to tap the rich talent force available in the city’s consumer internet and start-up ecosystem.
Besides, the company has named Abhishek Rajan as its new chief operating officer. Former COO Srinivas Mothey has been promoted as Senior vice-president merchants solutions at Paytm, where he would be looking after the innovative retail solutions for merchants.
Rajan is an IIM-Ahmedabad alumnus. He has be instrumental in building and scaling up Paytm’s travel business in the last four years, bringing large revenues for the company. In his new role, Rajan will supervise the Paytm Mall’s operations across product, technology, supply chain, marketing and finance.
The SoftBank-backed online retailer is also planning to recruit more than 300 people for product and technology roles as it planning to expand its business across categories.
As per the official communique, the existing workforce has been given the flexibility to either shift to Bengaluru or continue working from their current location across various roles.
