In its first bureaucratic shuffle, the newly formed Government of Rajasthan led by Ashok Gehlot has transferred 40 IAS officers.
Gehlot government has appointed 1989 batch IAS officer Niranjan Kumar Arya as Principal Secretary, Finance.
Arya replaced Mukesh Sharma, 1984 batch IAS officer and the senior most officer in the transfer list. Prior to the transfer, he was appointed as the commissioner of departmental inquiries.
During Gehlot’s previous stints as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Arya had been his secretary between 2012 and 2013. He was also the registrar of the cooperative department, the nodal department for farmers’ loan. He also held charge of the transport department during Gehlot’s previous regime.
The state government has also transferred Dr Prithvi Raj (2002 batch IAS officer) to Finance (revenue) department as Chief Secretary.
Gehlot government’s latest reshuffle includes several names such Principal secretary, forest and environment Kuldeep Ranka, who now has been appointed as the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. Ajitabh Sharma has been appointed as secretary to the Chief Minister.
