The Reserve Bank of India’s Governor Shaktikanta Das recently held a meeting with the outgoing Finance Minister Arun Jaitley where both discussed the state of the economy.
Taking to twitter, Das said: “Had a courtesy meeting with Hon’ble Union Minister @arunjaitley this evening.”
The meeting comes amidst reports and speculations of Jaitley’s poor health.
Dismissing such rumors, the government said reports on the deteriorating health of Jaitley are false and baseless, and media should stay clear of rumor mongering.
“Reports in a section of media regarding Union Minister Shri Arun Jaitley’s health condition are false and baseless. Media is advised to stay clear of rumor mongering,” government spokesperson Sitanshu Kar posted on Twitter.
