The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) named Manoranjan Mishra as Executive Director (ED) with effect from November 1, 2023.
He will oversee the Enforcement Directorate, the Department of External Investments & Operations, and the Department of Risk Monitoring in his capacity as the ED.
He held the position of Chief General Manager at the RBI’s Department of Regulation prior to assuming leadership as the Executive Director. Having worked in several divisions including as currency management, bank supervision, NBFC regulations, and banking regulation, he has over thirty years of experience with the RBI. He has participated in the creation of regulatory and supervisory policies as a member of numerous national and international working groups.
Mishra holds an MBA in banking and finance and is a postgraduate in economics. Additionally, he graduated with a master’s degree in finance and financial regulation from the United Kingdom’s Aston Business School.
