Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced that it will soon issue Rs 10 denomination banknotes bearing the signature of Governor Shaktikanta Das.As per the RBI release, the central bank will shortly issue Rs 10 denomination banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi (new) series bearing the signature of Governor Shaktikanta Das.
The design of these notes is similar in all respects to Rs 10 banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series. All banknotes in the denomination of Rs 10 issued by the Reserve Bank in the past will continue to be legal tender, the release stated.
In April this year, the bank had also announced the launch of Rs 20 denomination banknotes greenish-yellow colour. It said that the new banknote will be 63 X 129 mm in size. Rs 20 banknote was earlier introduced by the apex bank in the Mahatma Gandhi Series in August 2001.
