Private sector lender RBL Bank has inaugurated its all women branch in Chennai. The branch set up at the R A Puram area of the city would be managed by eight women and offer all products and services across liability and assets, said the bank in its official statement.
“It is a matter of immense pride for us to launch our first all women branch in Chennai. This is a full-service branch offering a range of products and services”, RBL Bank, Branch and Business Banking, Head-Geography, Surinder Chawla said.
With the opening of this branch, the bank is testifying its efforts in encouraging gender equality.
The bank currently serves 3.54 million customers. It has 246 branches and 384 ATMs across the country.
RBL recently announced that it has acquired an additional stake in Swadhaar FinServe Pvt Ltd. As per the filing made to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the company has an additional hold on 2.08 per cent stake in Swadhaar, thereby increasing the brand’s shareholding in Swadhaar to 60.48 per cent.
