Veteran banker and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Meera Sanyal died on Friday after a brief illness. In 2013, Sanyal joined AAP after resigning as country chief executive of Royal Bank of Scotland.
She also contested in a Lok Sabha election in 2014 from Mumbai south constituency but lost.
In her 30 year long banking career, she had been the head of corporate finance and chief operating officer for ABN Amro for Asia.
During her stint with Royal Bank of Scotland, she participated at a Global Conference on Financial Inclusion & Payment System organised by Elets Technomedia in 2013 as a key speaker.
At the conclave, she addressed a vital session on “Inclusion and Women Empowerment”.
