About the recruitment
State Bank of India has announced 3 regular vacancies for the post of Risk Specialist under advertisement number CRPD/SCO/2026-27/27. The positions fall under Middle Management Grade Scale-II (MMGS-II) and are open to candidates in the Unreserved category, with 1 vacancy reserved horizontally for PwBD-VI candidates.
Selected candidates will work on expected credit loss modelling, macroeconomic overlays, and model risk management. Responsibilities include developing PD, LGD and EAD models for loan portfolios and investments, implementing models in OFSAA, monitoring and validating models, and coordinating with auditors, regulators and other stakeholders across the model lifecycle.
Eligibility
Candidates must hold a CA, CFA, or MBA/PGDM or equivalent degree in Finance, Data Analytics or Business Analytics from a recognised institute. A preferred additional qualification is the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certification by GARP or Professional Risk Managers certification by PRMIA, valid as on 31.10.2026.
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification work experience specifically in ECL-related modelling within the Risk Management Department of a Bank, Financial Institution, Rating Agency, Brokerage Firm or a Risk Advisory function in a Consulting Firm as on 31.10.2026. Training and teaching experience will not be counted for eligibility purposes.
The age of applicants must be between 25 and 35 years as on 31.10.2026. Age relaxation for reserved category candidates is available as per Government of India guidelines.
Selection process
Selection takes place in two stages: shortlisting and an interview. Meeting the minimum qualification and experience criteria does not guarantee a call for interview; the Bank's shortlisting committee will determine the parameters and decide the number of candidates to be called.
The interview carries 100 marks. The qualifying marks will be decided by the Bank. The final merit list is prepared in descending order of interview scores alone. Selected candidates will be placed on probation as per the Bank's recruitment policy in force at the time.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted online through SBI's official careers portal. Candidates should navigate to the advertisement for CRPD/SCO/2026-27/27 and complete the registration form. After registering, note the system-generated provisional registration number and password.
Candidates must upload a recent passport-size photograph (20 kb to 50 kb, 200 x 230 pixels) and signature (10 kb to 20 kb, 140 x 60 pixels) in the specified formats. Supporting documents to be uploaded in PDF format (not exceeding 500 kb each) include a biodata, brief resume, ID proof, proof of date of birth, educational certificates, preferred qualification or certification documents if applicable, experience certificates, caste or EWS certificate if applicable, PwBD certificate if applicable, and Form-16, offer letter or latest salary slip from the current employer.
After verifying all details carefully — no changes are permitted after final submission — candidates must pay the application fee online using Internet Banking, Debit Card or Credit Card. The e-receipt and the system-generated application form should be saved and printed for future reference. Online registration and fee payment are open from 02.11.2026 to 23.11.2026.
