Sonata Software, global Information Technology (IT) Services Company, has named Jagannathan Chakravarthi Narasimhan as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
The post was vacant since May 30, 2019, when the former finance head Prasanna Oke left the organisation to join as the CFO & Partner of Basil Technology Partners, after completing a four-year stint.
At Sonata, Narasimhan will be supervising finance, accounts, legal, secretarial, merger and acquisitions (M&A) and investor relations.
He holds over two decades of experience in finance, company secretarial compliances, enterprise risk management, procurement, travel and immigration operations, global taxation, treasury, investor relations, internal audit and IT function.
Prior to joining Sonata, Narasimhan was appointed as the CFO of Carborundum Universal, a listed manufacturing company part of the Murugappa Group for a year.
He also held leadership positions in Ashok Leyland, Hindustan Powerplus Limited, HCL Technologies, Bharti Airtel Limited, and Mindtree, where he was appointed as the CFO.
He holds a graduate degree from the University of Madras, Narasimhan holds degrees in B.com, finance and accounts. He is also a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India.
