Mumbai: Standard Chartered has appointed Kavita Kulkarni as its Chief Technology and Operations Officer (CTOO) for India and South Asia, reinforcing its leadership team as the bank continues to accelerate its technology-led transformation and operational excellence agenda across the region.
Kulkarni brings decades of experience in technology leadership, digital transformation, operations, wealth management, and strategic business execution. Throughout her career, she has successfully led large-scale modernization initiatives, strengthened technology capabilities, and improved operational efficiency across leading global financial institutions.
Prior to joining Standard Chartered, she served as Chief Information Officer for Private Bank and Wealth Management at Barclays Private Bank, where she spearheaded global technology strategy and drove automation and modernization initiatives. Her distinguished career also includes senior leadership roles at Barclays, Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, HSBC Private Bank, Eight Capital Management, and Shalmala Finance Limited, giving her extensive expertise across banking, wealth management, risk, and technology.
In her new role, Kulkarni will lead Standard Chartered’s technology and operations strategy across India and South Asia, focusing on strengthening digital capabilities, enhancing operational resilience, improving customer experience, and supporting the bank’s long-term growth objectives.
